The Job Search Goes Mobile

With each passing year, the technology that we employ gets more and more advanced. The main goal it to make our lives easier and to assist us in what we need. Usually, that’s what happens. Of course, technology can certainly make our lived more difficult, but being able to access almost anything on your mobile device when you have a smartphone makes our lives so much easier. It’s still amazing to me how much I can access in seconds just by using the tips of my fingers. To make our lives even easier, though, you can even search for jobs online. How fast and easy is that?

We all know that searching for a job is one of the most difficult and taxing things. For one, the job market isn’t doing so well. That makes the competition levels for any job soar higher than normal. On top of that, there are so many unemployed Americans in the market since a thousands of people lost their jobs due to the economic downfall. As a result, searching for a job is a grueling task and is actually like a full-time job itself. Surely anything to make the search easier is welcomed, right? That is why Spark Hire is so excited to soon be releasing our mobile app. With our mobile app, you’ll be able to search, apply and interview from your phone!

You may be scratching your heads in disbelief, but soon this will all be a reality. In light of this exciting upcoming release, Spark News decided to take a look at what mobile has done for the job search already. In fact, we came across this infographic on Visual.ly that takes a look at how and why job seekers use mobile for their job search. According to their statistics, 77 percent of job seekers use their mobile device to search for jobs. Roughly 36 percent say they do this because it’s a great way to quickly respond to a job post. On top of that, when you job search on your mobile device, you can search for jobs anytime and anywhere. Think of how many more jobs you can apply to.

Remember our post on how to search for a job while you are still employed? Using your mobile device to find and apply for jobs is a great way to be discreet about it. In fact, that’s the reason why roughly 18 percent of job seekers use it.
