Fixing America’s crumbling infrastructure has always been on President Obama’s $447 billion jobs package, also known as The American Jobs Act. After the Act was defeated in the Senate last week, the Democrats said they will separate the part of the bill that involves rebuilding the nation’s roads, bridges, airports and railways into a smaller $60 billion jobs bill in hopes that it can be more easily passed. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said the bill would put thousands of people back to work by next year.
