Chicago-based startup Grubwithus attempts to bring Groupon dynamics to the restaurant reservation game. Users use the site to browse for meals and reserves spots. Grubwithus brings people together over a meal to form social connections. Grubwithus works with restaurants to negotiate better deals for a small service fee. The price of the meal increases by $0.50 with every attendee. In just over a year of operation, the company has over 22,000 users and 450 restaurant partnerships. They have raised $1.6 million, including some from Ashton Kutcher.
