American Jobs and Where They Are Going

Unemployment, the blame game and outsourcing is all covered by this infographic from Visual.ly highlighting where the job market is and where it needs to be in order to have a full recovery. It also gives good insight as to why companies choose to outsource their work rather than pay American’s to do it.

As you can see from the graphic, hiring an American software engineer costs a company an average of $85,430. To outsource the same work to a software engineer in India, it’s only 11 percent of the cost. From a business perspective, especially in this harsh economy, any penny saved is a great service. The graphic reiterates this by showing 79 percent of employers cite labor costs as their reason for outsourcing. 62 percent cite technology and infrastructure capabilities. What Spark News found most interesting though, was the fact that 74 percent of Americans blamed and cheap labor from other countries as the main reason our job market is in the dumps. 33 percent blame Obama’s policies. Take a look at the infographic. What do you think about the statistics?
