3 Ways to Know if You’re an Entrepreneur

3 Ways to Know if You’re an EntrepreneurIn today’s world, we are seeing more of what Real Business identifies as “Digital Nomads”.  Perhaps you have considered a career as a digital nomad and running your own freelance business from anywhere in the world.  Sure, it sounds glamorous and it can be very rewarding.

However, it’s important to realize that by taking this path, you are entering into entrepreneurship and you need to have certain skills and traits in order to have any chance at success.

1. Passion for what you do

Any entrepreneur will tell you that if you want to have a chance at success, you must have a passion for your business.  Without this passion, you will lack the motivation each day to get up and get moving towards your goals.

When you have a passion for what you are doing, you are able to stay determined and focused, which will help you to achieve success.

Even with passion, there will still be tough days when you feel like giving up.  As an entrepreneur, it’s important that you remember your passion and stay true to it, no matter how difficult the task.

2. Determination and drive

In order to stay true to your passion, you must have determination and drive.  If you are the type of person who finds it difficult to get started with your tasks or enjoys a low stress environment with plenty of down time – entrepreneurship is not for you.

Entrepreneurs are very driven and do not give up easily.  Remember, as an entrepreneur you are the boss.  That means that it is up to you to stay motivated and get excited about your business.

3. Focused and accountable

Just as it’s an entrepreneur’s responsibility to stay motivated, it is also an entrepreneur’s responsibility to hold him or herself accountable.

If you need the security of having someone push you along and hold you accountable when it comes to your day-to-day tasks, you will quickly find that entrepreneurship is not the right fit.

As an entrepreneur, you are responsible for your success and failure.  When you forget a deadline or when you lose a deal, it’s all in your hands and there is no one else to hold accountable.

Being an entrepreneur is a lot of hard work.  However, it is very rewarding when you have the passion, determination, and focus that is needed in order to be successful.

What are some other traits that could determine if you are an entrepreneur?
