Most Interesting Jobs In America

Have you ever had a job that you’ve dreaded going to for the simple fact that you know you will once again be doing the exact same thing? Some jobs can indeed be repetitive and mundane with no change in routine whatsoever. On the other hand, there are also a number of interesting jobs out there that you may have never been aware even existed. So if you’re looking to switch careers, or just want to know what else is out there, take a look at what some of the most interesting jobs in America consist of.

Pet Psychologist
Interested in psychology? Interested in animals even more? Well then pet psychology may be the career for you. Some may scoff at the notion of a psychologist treating animals, but these professionals require extensive schooling including a master’s degree or a Ph.D in behavioral science. Going beyond animal training or pet therapy, pet psychologists are often called in by owners to observe and diagnose an animal’s problem.

Storm Chaser
For those interested in conventional meteorology, why not take it a step further and delve into the world of storm chasing? Deemed a highly interesting job by Discovery Channel, with their show dedicated specifically to “Storm Chasers”, these individuals are in for a daily rush while on the scene. Storm chasers typically study cloud formations and chase severe thunderstorms while conducting research and examining their formation. Though often dangerous, storm chasing is the perfect career for those seeking an adrenaline rush while also conducting scientific research.

Odor Tester, Cheese Sprayer
And what about odor testing, cheese spraying, snake milking and furniture testing? Yes these are all very real jobs conducted by human beings. Odor testers consist of chemists testing deodorants and anti-perspirants to make sure they do what they’re supposed to do. Ever wonder how each kernel of your movie theater popcorn is perfectly coated with cheese or butter? Well, it’s actually a persons’ job to make sure each kernel is individually covered.

Snake Milker, Furniture Tester
An interesting job for an animal lover and an individual who enjoys the danger of being surrounded by poisonous snakes, snake milkers are responsible for getting the venom out of snakes in order to acquire the anti venom. Finally, for those who enjoy moving from one piece of furniture to another all day, furniture tester may just be one of the most interesting jobs out there. Companies such as La-Z-Boy hire people for this sole purpose. Not too shabby a job to wake up and go to every morning.

There you have it. Some of the most interesting jobs in America. Many I assumed were done by machines, but it turns out there is still a need for good old fashioned human work ethic.
