Unlike the USA, Australia’s economy is booming but jobs for young people remains a huge problem, with over half of those between 16 and 24 years old unemployed. The problem is particularly bad in remote communities, immigrant communities and among the country’s indigenous population.
As Al Jazeera‘s Andrew Thomas reports from Melbourne, hope exists in the form of a government-sponsored program designed to teach young Australians the skills they need to survive in the workforce.
